Workmanship and attention to detail.
Most of my designs are fully bezeled (silver around the sides of the glass) soldered to a full solid sterling back.  This process takes longer to produce and costs more, but the benefits are many.  First you get a stronger more substantial piece of jewelry that will last for generations and when a solid silver back is used it produces a mirror effect behind the setting and allows light to reflect back from the stone to the viewer.  The glass stone actually shines from within (an inner glow).
